Do you love fashion? Maybe you’re a huge fan of Material Girl?

And it raises an interesting point–Should we just take it as a bit of fun? Or should we be worried that a TV show concerning the fashion industry is forcing us away from the real issues of the world?

Now, I love a bit of light-hearted entertainment just as much as the next person, but what do people have against thinking all of a sudden? And deep-thinking–well–according to some that’s the social equivalent of walking about without zipping up your flies–

What troubles me is this: people watch ‘light entertainment’, get used to the easy-going nature of it, and are then shocked when they watch anything TV based that makes them actually question their beliefs; something which can only be a good thing, if sometimes a little uncomfortable. What makes it even worse is that scientists have discovered that TV actually numbs a portion of the brain: so if you’re going to numb your brain, do you really want to do so while also numbing your perception of the outside world as well?

But maybe I’m thinking too much–And after all, TV can be fun. It makes us laugh, gives us an escape when we’re down and brings us together with something to do (if you’re English it’s practically illegal not to watch the soaps on TV).

One thing that I can’t argue against is this next point: we need to entertain ourselves in a light-hearted way. So if that means numbing our brains too—and immersing ourselves in an activity which isn’t mulling over the depressing news of the outside world—then maybe that’s not such a bad thing after all.

If you are constantly troubled by skin that breaks out at the drop of a hat, or skin that looks super shiny after short intervals, then you could try using face masks to fight these problems. The good part is that you do not have to invest in high end brands for their face products, rather you can mix up some easily items from your kitchen to make your own face mask.

Let us look at some of these effective masks that can be made by using kitchen ingredients.

Strawberry Mask

Strawberries are a natural cure for acne due to the presence of salicylic acid in them. Therefore using them as a key ingredient in any face mask can work wonders in fighting off acne and pimples.

To make an effective face mask, you need quarter cup strawberries and quarter cup sour cream. You can also use yogurt instead of sour cream, however in that case the yogurt needs to be non-flavored. Mash and mix both these ingredients well and then apply it on your face. Keep it for at least ten to fifteen minutes and then clean off with water.

Apart from being an effective remedy for acne, this mask also makes the skin look radiant.

Clay Mask

A clay mask for the face can also be easily made in your kitchen. For this you need honey and fuller’s earth. Mix both of these together, you can add some water if the texture is too thick. Leave this mask on your face for at least ten minutes. Fuller’s earth is a great agent that helps in keeping oiliness at bay. Honey, too has curative properties. Together, these two ingredients make a good combination to work against acne.

If your skin is sensitive, then use the clay mask. Apart from that, both these face masks are quite good for oily and acne prone skin.

Before I go I need to tell you that Court House has just opened a clinic for Laser Hair Removal Manchester, how great is that? They seem to be doing really well, I will write a post on them soon!

Just the way our body needs food everyday, similarly our skin needs proper care every single day. If the skin is not looked after then it ages prematurely and also breaks out in pimples or acne. And this holds even more true for facial skin. A simple daily care is all that is needed to keep the skin in good condition.

All you have to do is follow the three step cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine twice a day, and your skin will remain in great condition.

Cleansing

This should usually be the first step of your skin care regime. You can cleanse your face by washing it gently with a good face wash. You can also use some cleansing lotion on cotton wool to clean your face. Cleansing takes off all the accumulated dead cells and grime, and makes the skin clean.

Toning

The pores in the face open up after cleansing. Hence, it is exposed and can attract harmful free radicals which might enter the skin through the open pores. Toning tightens and closes up the pores. As a result, the skin is ready for moisturizing. You should use cotton wool to dab the toner all over your face evenly. You can also buy toners that can be directly sprayed on the skin.

Moisturizing

Moisturizing is like the final seal. It replenishes and nourishes the skin. If it is the day time, then your moisturizer should have adequate SPF protection. This will help in protecting the skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun.

If you follow this routine daily, you will see that your skin will remain smooth and supple. Twice a week, you could use a good scrub on your face. And remember never to sleep with your make up on, however tired you are.

Just a little bit of care and attention will go a long way in keeping those pimples, wrinkles and crow’s feet at bay.

One of the newest products to hit the market that woks to enhance your lips is Besoplex and it comes in a lip gloss type application. The makers claim that it can provide users with results that are almost instant and long term. They even guarantee the results.

Besoplex is made up of three main ingredients, Methyl Nicotinate which works to increase circulation to the site where the product is applied, supplemental collagen, known to increase the body’s production of natural collagen; Hyaluronic Acid, a water binding agent known to get rid of particles from your skin cells.

What users have been reporting is that with a single application of Besoplex, they see rosier, plump lips in a very short time period from application. Many have also stated that the results they have experienced go further than just the short term. They have seen fuller lips over time with this product.

Some estimate that after consistent use for about two weeks many reported a puffer look to their lips and all without the use of any needles.

It is evident that using Besoplex brings about the results many women are looking for. They get fuller lips at a much more reasonable price than many of the common alternatives. Results can be seen almost as soon as it is applied to the lips and will improve over time with regular usage.

There are some women who are weary of the claims made by the makers of Besoplex since very few products used for lip enhancement actually produce the immediate results promised. But if the testimonials of the women who have used the product consistently are anything to go by, their fears can be put to rest. The effectiveness of Besoplex has been shown and the use of more natural ingredients has made it safer to use.

One final rant that I feel I must have is about Micrografting. I mean, why is it that we are in a custom today where this is resonable, and where you can ride the tube this morning and look around you and see about a dozen ads for different kinds of cosmetic surgery. There is no need to go in for an invasive procedure when you can just as easily acheve the same results with more natural alternatives!

When it comes to the connection between a woman and her beauty no matter what, she would not want to sacrifice one bit for her beauty. On the other hand every man would also want a pretty wife or girl friend by his side. There are a lot of products in the market which help you to enhance your beauty. L’Oreal is one such well known cosmetic product company that has made quality products available in the market for a number of years now. Not only in the area of skin but also in the area of hair products it is one of the dominating companies in the market.

L’Oreal has launched a product called the L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Powder. This product matches with your skin tone exactly. This new formula makes the compact spread smoothly on your skin. There are 18 different shades that are available in the market. It does not contain any oil or heavy texture in it. If you are confused then you could consult a makeup specialist or a beautician to help you out with the tone color that matches your skin. If you do not choose the right tone color then it might make your skin look darker or it might give you an unnatural look. User reviews about this product are really good as it is available in various shades satisfying the requirements of customers with different skin types. To a large extent it even covers the pores on the face and it gives an even effect too. There may be a few drawbacks in this product such as dryness of skin and so on. However, this depends on different skin types and it is quite a well known fact that not all cosmetic products appeal to every user. So choose the product that matches your skin type and tone the best.

On a completely different note, I was talking to an old friend of mine the other day and she just got this great new job at a Beauty PR firm. We went out for catch-up drinks last night and she was going on and on about all of the perks that comes with the job. I mean, I am sure that it is very hard work and sometimes you have to work insanely long hours, but think of all the great clothes! Regardless, well done Dakota!

There’s nothing like a compliment to warm you up on a cold winter’s day. Here are some winter fashion tips:

Lips and eyes - Make a statement with your lips and eyes by doing them up beautifully. It’ll make you stand out on a cold blustery street. Charcoal and silver eye shadow, long lashes with red lips. You never had it better girls. Don’t over pluck the brows though.

Body shape - Just because you have to load the woolens doesn’t mean you have to end up looking like a sack the whole winter through. Choose clothes that go well with your body frame and shape. The trick is to wear fewer layers of warmer clothing like cashmere and silk than wearing layers and layers of cotton. Thermal underwear is a very sensible winter wear.

Foot wear - Boots are a practical and trendy must have for every woman in the winters.

You just can’t do without coats. Wear ones that hint at your figure not those that bulge and makes you look fatter. Team short coats with your professional wear and use good quality faux-fur to compliment your evening dresses. Animal furs are thankfully out.

Winter accessories like galoshes and fashionable raincoats also add a lot to your winter wardrobe.

Bring on the creams and lotions. As the cold wind robs your skin of vital moisture and oil, pamper yourself with a good day cream as well as a nourishing night one. And remember to hydrate from within by drinking a lot of water.

Your tresses are the other thing that takes the brunt of the cold air. If you have hair that becomes dull, brittle and lifeless in the winter, don’t shampoo it more than once a day. Take the help of a stylist to buy products that are best suited to your hair type. Minimize the use of dryers and curlers. Try covering your hair gently with a scarf or a cap. You can use these accessories to make a style statement while you protect your hair.

These winter fashion tips are sure to get you many a flattering remark.

So I don’t know why, but lately I have really been enjoying the potential of buying things online. My friend Joanne has gotten me a little bit hooked. I find it really good for certain things, but for others I feel that you need to test it out a bit before you pay for it. For example, I don’t think I could ever really bring myself to buy idebenone online, it just seems unatural.

Pain in your breasts following a breast reduction is naturally par of the course of having the operation, but for the majority of patients the severe pain experienced immediately following the operation begins to slowly decline and after a few months has disappeared altogether.

This is not always the case however, and there are reports of much longer lasting post-surgical pain affecting women and hampering their ability to return to normal. Prolonged and persistent pain can be caused by a number of things such as unanticipated damage to nerves, blood vessels or other vital bodily structures.

It is crucial to have regular check ups with both the plastic surgeon and regular doctor in the months following major surgery during which the healing is monitored and any unexpected pains or other side-effects can be discussed, but with the pain showing no sign of cessation in the months following these, it is essential to return for another thorough appointment. Persistent and prolonged pain can have very negative effects both physically and psychologically on your life so it is vital to address the problem swiftly.

Although far from ideal, it may be necessary to undergo more surgery when you are experiencing long term pain, as follow-up surgery is in some cases the only solution to correcting the undesired side-effects and removing the pain altogether. It is vital however to take professional medical advice on the matter of post-surgical breast pain. As is the case with all things health related, there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to a problem such as this one as medical histories, lifestyle factors and a host of other factors play a role in suitable treatment.

If you are experiencing post-surgical pain following breast surgery that is unexpected in its severity or longevity, consult with your doctor as soon as possible.

When looking for a face firming cream, you want a cream that can take care of lines, wrinkles, aging, sagging skin and dry skin. In order to take care of all these problems, there are three major ingredients you should look for in your firming cream.

1. Cynergy TK - This ingredient increases the elasticity of your skin and produces natural growth of elastin, new skin cells and collagen. This helps reduce the sign of wrinkles and adds a radiant shine to your skin.

2. Phytessence Wakame - A natural extract of Wakame sea kelp, this is used to heal dry skin, increase elasticity and promote healthier skin.

3. Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10 - Another ingredient that increases collagen and increases elasticity in your skin. This produces gives off a serious anti-aging effect because it penetrates 7 layers deep into the skin.
This is a great alternative to more intrusive procedures like botox.

I have to say that my life is simply great because I get to work from home! I can get out of bed, take a long hot shower, make my coffee, turn on my computer, feed the dog and sit down to breakfast. I do this all while everyone else in the world is running around frantically, trying to get ready for their 9 to 5 job. Come winter time, I watch out my window as my neighbors are out there in coats, boots and scarves in the blustering wind trying to scrape off their frozen cars and warm them up for their frightening commute to work. I can take a break any time I want during the day to play with my kids, surf the Internet or watch some TV. Who cares? I don’t have a boss. I am my boss!

Or gang how about working from Rome! Well gentlemen We’re going to Rome and checking out the Vatican city. I garentee we can get a personal audience with the pope. Why not join us? Here a list of Rome hostels. We land on the 2nd and stay till the end of the month.

Some women suffer from their breasts being too large. When this happens, not only do they look out of sorts, but they can also cause a lot of back pain as well as other problems. For example, in one particular case, a woman complained of having permanent indents in the skin of her shoulders from her bra strap. When breasts are so large that they cause discomfort in any way, it might be time for a breast reduction and in most cases, this is done through cosmetic surgery and is covered through your medical insurance if it is causing discomfort.

The problem with surgery is that it can leave unwanted scarring behind. There are some things you can do to reduce this scarring after a breast reduction.

* Keep in mind that it takes at least a year for scarring to fade. Usually, breast scarring is at it’s worst right after surgery and for the next several months so be patient.

* Rub Vitamin E on your breasts and scars consistently for the next several months which helps reduce the appearance of scars.

* Massage in Mederma, ScarGuard and Palmers Scar Serum to help fade scarring.

* Keep your scars out of the sun, even with a swimsuit on as this will turn them permanently red.

* Try Vitamin R which is a new product. This fully removes and replaces scar tissue in 2 weeks.

Scarring is inevitable with any kind of surgery, but by following some of the tips above you can reduce if not remove your scars for good.
