How old do you have to be to have breast reduction surgery? Well the minimum age is 18 years old. However, this is not a hard and fast rule. If you are seen by a doctor and there are strong medical reasons for having it done, you may be in a position to have it at a younger age.
More and more people are going to the doctors to have this looked. In todays world. it is recognised that having overly large breasts can lead to health problems and issues. When a doctor recognises this, they are then able to “prescribe” the treatment - which means the NHS pays for it. This means that whilst many people are travelling abroad to Europe and other countrys to have their breasts enlarged for cost reasons, you are far better staying within the UK for a reduction - especially if you are of a younger age.
Of course if you want to have it for purely cosmetc reasons then you will have to be paying for it yourself, but generally a ladys reason for having this type of surgery is almost always for health rather than aesthetic reasons.
